Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
Based on the Mitchell Model, this service includes both group and individual meetings to help workers cope with a recent traumatic event that has occurred on-site or off-site. Therapists from Bloomsburg Psychological Center, LLC will meet with your workers, at your location, usually within 24-48 hours of the traumatic event.

CISM helps workers discuss their reactions to the event and be able to return to a normal schedule as soon as possible. The therapists also educate participants as to what stress-related symptoms may occur in the next few months, provide handouts to share with their families, and identify individuals who are more severely affected and may require additional help.

Your business’s health insurance plan usually includes provisions for CISM. We will help you research how you can access this invaluable service. Contact us before you need this service so that everything is in place if the unthinkable does occur.
