AMPUTEE

ANXIETY

Anxiety/Panic Attacks Support Group

For those who suffer from anxiety and panic disorder. Meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the Sunbury Community Hospital & Outpatient Center ground floor conference room. Please call the community health education office at 286-3430 for more information. Registration is required for support groups. Not all groups meet through the winter months, call for current meeting times.

 

AUTISM

IU 16 Area Support on Autism and related Disorders, This support group serves anyone concerned about a person with autism, pervasive developmental disorder or a related disorder of communication and/or behavior. 4th Monday of each month 6:30 P.M. Childcare provided. Affiliated with ABOARD – Advisory Board on Autism and Related Disorders. ASTHMA

Asthma Support Group

For those who have asthma and for those who care for someone with asthma. BLINDNESS

Susquehanna Valley Sight-Loss Support Group, Vintage Knoll, Woodbine Lane, Danville or Geisinger Medical Center, Bush pavilion – basement – conference room. We offer information and support to individuals who are visually imapired. Provide great tips on how to customize your household to meet your needs. 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT

BRAIN INJURY

Anthracite Area Brain Injury Support Group
Offers support to individuals with brain injuries and their families and friends, promotes public awareness of the challenges of brain injuries and engages in advocacy at the local, state and federal levels. BREATHING PROBLEMS

The Breathing Club

The Breathing Club meets at the Meadows Retirement Community Center. Educational and supportive groups for anyone who has a chronic lung disease or anyone interested in chronic lung disease. Meetings April – December. Contact Deb Sanders at (570) 275-5472 for meeting times and more information.

CANCER

Man to Man Support Group

An American Cancer Society support group for those who had or have prostate cancer. Mothers of Young Children Co-op
A non-profit, non-denominational group for mothers with young children in the Bloomsburg, Danville and surrounding areas. The co-op offers guidance, education and assistance to mothers in an effort to foster the well-being of children. Socialization and refreshments are provided at each meeting. Co-op meets 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 4th and Market Streets, Bloomsburg. CONNECT Information Service
Provides information about early intervention and child development for ages 0-5 years old through the use of a toll free telephone help line. Staff are available to answer questions, make referrals to appropriate agencies and provide access to free resources.
